Engineers from Fenix Signalling have visited PintschTiefenbach in Germany to receive product training as part of a project to deliver a Depot Control System for the Chiltern Light Maintenance Depot in Banbury where Fenix have been retained by the Buckingham Group Contracting Ltd to deliver the signalling control system and interface.
PintschTiefenbach provide depot signalling and control systems worldwide, they have three installations in the UK , however this will be the first instance of the PintschTiefenbach system having a technical interface to Network Rail systems; current installations in theUK, such as those at Wembley Depot, Immingham and Moreton are limited to an operational interface only.
Eddie Murphy of Fenix Signalling said “we expect that depot owners/operators can benefit from improved cost and operational efficiencies, health and safety improvements and operational flexibility by upgrading to modern automated systems as they reach end of life on current systems”
