Fenix Global has boosted its ranks with the appointment of experienced Principles-licensed Signalling Design Engineer Brian McNaughton as Technical Director.
Brian joins the firm’s railway signalling design team after five years as a freelance consultant, where he worked with clients including Siemens and CH2M.
The 48-year-old has spent more than 25 years in the rail industry in roles in the UK and Australia. His key experience is design and verification in Route Relay Interlocking, Solid State Interlocking and Microlok Interlocking.
Brian says his experience will prove an asset for a company positioning itself to become a worldwide leader in its field: “I have spent time freelance contracting for a number of years, gaining valuable experience on a variety of projects. This has allowed me an insight into the majority of the large railway network companies.”
“My experience in the railway signalling design arena spans over 27 years. My extensive knowledge gained both in the UK and Australia will be a positive addition to an already highly experienced group of professionals.
“The most important opportunity for me is the vision to grow the company globally, allowing a pathway with many opportunities to drive the next generation of railway engineers into an exciting future.”
And Fenix Global is a company with the personnel to achieve these goals, according to the newest member of its design team.
Brian said the innovative firm is well-placed to attract the industry’s top talent in the years ahead.
“I can see the vision that Fenix has to expand and drive forward the new global venture,” he said. “In a changing railway business, I can see the opportunity to drive this forward to ensure the future has prospects for careers in the railway industry.
On Brian’s appointment, Craig Purcell, Managing Director for Fenix Global, said: “I am pleased to welcome Brian McNaughton to Fenix Global, and look forward to bringing his technical expertise to our business and projects.
“Fenix Global has a talented and capable group of highly experienced engineers, and Brian’s appointment will further strengthen this team and help in achieving our ambition of being a leading partner for joined up signalling services around the globe.”
Whatever your signalling or telecoms requirements may be, Fenix UK & Ireland has the railway industry experience and expertise to make your project a success.
